Position Overview:
The Applications Engineer provides technical support and product solutions to internal teams, including Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Field Service. This role involves technical evaluations, project feasibility analysis, and product expertise.
Key Details:
- Location: Remote with travel to manufacturing facilities in JAX, Free, and Vancouver.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in power distribution systems (switchboards, switchgear, panelboards, or industrial control panels).
- Status: Exempt role (not bonus eligible), with quarterly profit sharing, excellent benefits, and strong career growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide technical solutions via drawings, bills of material, and project specifications review.
- Conduct site surveys to determine project feasibility.
- Review customer orders for accuracy and completeness before handoff.
- Attend customer meetings to address compliance and product offering issues.
- Analyze product failures, participate in root cause analysis, and author corrective action reports.
- Collaborate with engineering teams for product solutions.
- Offer technical training and feedback on product guides and tools.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (NEC, UL, CSA, IEEE/ANSI).
- Provide subject matter expertise on product applications.
Competencies: - Expertise in LV/MV power distribution equipment and systems integration.
- Proficiency with single-line/three-line diagrams and electrical schematics.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with industry standards and electrical service requirements.
Preferred Skills: - Experience with AutoCAD and industrial automation tools (e.g., Allen Bradley, GE PLCs, HMIs).
- Background in manufacturing power distribution equipment is a plus.
