Solar Field O&M Technician

Are you passionate about renewable energy and solar power systems? We are seeking a skilled Solar Field O&M Technician to perform corrective and preventative maintenance and commissioning activities across several solar plants, primarily in Minnesota with some out-of-state travel. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed electrician with experience in the electrical industry to join a growing team and make an impact in the renewable energy field.
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct visual inspections of mechanical and electrical components.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and communication issues.
• Safely operate electrical systems up to 1500VDC and identify safety issues.
• Complete work orders and document tasks daily.
• Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Be available for on-call scheduling and travel on short notice.
• Lead apprentices and laborers as needed, while maintaining a high level of safety.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Navigate monitoring platforms to identify plant performance issues.

Requirements:

• Minnesota Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or Master).
• Minimum of 5 years in the electrical industry.
• Valid driver’s license with a history of safe driving.
• Ability to travel locally and regionally with some overnight stays.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of DAS, SCADA, thermal imaging, and IV Curve Tracing.
• Familiarity with solar commissioning and fiber optic, network, and communication systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
