The Opportunity
We are seeking a FSQ Manager to oversee food safety and quality across Cobram Estate Olives’ Australian products and facilities. The role will work closely with key teams to ensure a consistent supply of safe, high‑quality products and is suitable for a coordinator or junior manager looking to grow and develop their skills. The role is based at the Lara head office, with bi‑monthly travel to our groves.

Key responsibilities of the role

• Own and maintain the Food Safety & Quality Management System (FSQMS) across Australian sites and products, ensuring compliance with HACCP, SQF, regulatory and customer requirements while promoting a strong food safety and quality culture.
• Lead, coach and develop FSQ Officers, and deliver or coordinate FSQ training and inductions to ensure ongoing policy and regulatory compliance.
• Lead external food safety and regulatory audits end‑to‑end, including scheduling, readiness, audit participation, evidence management, corrective actions and close‑out across Geelong and grove sites.
• Own the Master Verification Schedule (MVS) and verification program, including internal audits, gap assessments, mock and traceability exercises, calibration programs and HACCP reviews, ensuring timely close‑out of actions.
• Manage the customer service FSQ workstream, including customer portals, enquiries, complaints and service reports, leading investigations, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Manage FSQ non‑conformances, incidents and recalls (internal, external and supplier‑related), coordinating investigations, execution and clear stakeholder communication. 
• Provide FSQ support to new product development (NPD) activities, including supplier approval, risk assessments, label approval and alignment with regulatory and customer requirements.

 
Skills & Experience
The role will ideally suit someone who has previous experience in a similar role, loves to problem solve and make process improvements. The successful candidate will be commercially astute coupled with the following experience and attributes:

• Food Science, or related field, with 5+ years in QA supervision or 1–2 years in a management role
• Strong knowledge of Food Safety & Quality standards (HACCP, SQF, private label)
• Proven ability to build strong cross‑functional relationships, listen actively, and work with teams from different disciplines to achieve shared outcomes
• Highly detail‑oriented with strong prioritisation and deadline management skills
• Proactive, self‑driven problem solver with a positive improvement mindset
