Cobram Estate Olives (CBO) is searching for a Maintenance Manager to join the team in Boundary Bend.
The role will work closely with the management team and fellow maintenance team members to organise, monitor and carry out the preventative and reactive maintenance of a large variety of horticultural equipment such as the Colossus Olive Harvesters and including a fleet of utes, mules, tractors and various implements.
The Role The role will be based at Cobram Estate’s Olive Grove in Boundary Bend, Victoria, and report to the Grove Manager.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to) the following activities:
- Manage the preventative & reactive (breakdown) maintenance requirements for the plant and equipment across the Boundary Bend and Wemen Groves.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate records of all service, maintenance and repair work performed on each piece of equipment and machinery.
- Maintain stock of required parts & supplies to ensure cost effectiveness and efficiencies of maintenance whilst managing budgetary spend in conjunction with the Grove Manager.
- Support the maintenance team in their work and development.
- Regularly inspect, schedule and perform routine maintenance on tractors, harvesters, and other farm equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition.
- In consultation with management, coordinate the installation and commissioning of all new plant equipment.
- Build effective relationships with key people in the division to ensure all requirements in regards to plant and equipment across the groves are met.
- Ensuring that all farm & workshop equipment meets safety standards and regulations, and that proper training is supplied for workshop equipment.
- Develop a program for the progressive upgrade of all current systems within the workshop.
- Suitable for people who have had previous experience working in engineering and maintenance, mining operations, trades & services, engineering, construction or farming.
Skills & Experience The role will ideally suit someone who is keen to further develop their management skills, whilst remaining hands-onion the shed. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and willingness to perform a variety of duties coupled with the following experience and attributes:
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Experience in a leadership or management role.
- Qualified in a maintenance discipline.
- Previous experience working onsite a farm or rural area preferred but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people.
- Superior attention to detail, organisational skills, and capabilities in terms of prioritising work and meeting deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills and proven ability to build great teams, collaborate effectively and develop good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- A self-starter with the ability to take initiative, work efficiently and without supervision.
- Ability to travel to different work sites as/when required.
