The Company
Our client is a privately owned Australian supplier and manufacturer of timber, panel and decorative building products, with an established national footprint.
The business supplies independent hardware stores, merchants and reseller customers, providing a stable platform for an experienced sales professional to develop existing relationships and pursue new growth.
The Role
You will manage approximately 200 accounts across the Sunshine Coast, Greater Brisbane, Gold Coast and Northern Rivers, NSW with most customers located between North Lakes and the Gold Coast.
This is primarily a field and home-based role. Travel to the Sunshine Coast is generally required fortnightly and Northern Rivers, NSW approximately monthly.
The package is $90,000–$110,000 plus superannuation, a company vehicle, laptop and phone.
Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritise a diverse portfolio of reseller and merchant accounts.
- Grow revenue and margin through existing-account development and new business.
- Build relationships with business owners, store managers, buyers and sales teams.
- Present products, promotions and practical sales guidance to customers.
- Re-engage inactive accounts and identify new opportunities across the territory.
- Monitor pricing, margins, profitability, forecasts and sales performance.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular territory and pipeline reporting.
Skills, Experience & Characteristics Required You will bring: - Proven account management, territory sales or business development experience within the building materials sector, working with reseller, merchant, wholesale or similar channel-based customers.
- Technical knowledge of timber and decorative panel products will be highly regarded.
- A record of achieving sales targets and delivering profitable account growth.
- Strong commercial awareness across pricing, margins, forecasting and customer value.
- The ability to manage a large geographic territory and plan customer activity effectively.
- A proactive, organised and resilient approach to developing new and existing business.
- Strong communication, relationship-building and CRM skills.
- A current Australian driver licence and availability for regular regional travel.
Experience with timber, decorative surfaces, laminates, building materials, hardware or trade products will be highly regarded.
