Responsibilities:
Oversee and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare and submit consolidated reporting packages to the parent company.
Support budget planning and perform budget versus actual analysis with clear reporting.
Manage the preparation and updating of transfer pricing documentation (e.g., local files).
Review and validate intercompany transaction pricing in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee tax compliance processes, including corporate income tax and GST filings, in coordination with external advisors.
Act as the main liaison for external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
Assess and monitor internal control frameworks (J-SOX) and recommend enhancements.
Coordinate and respond to internal audits conducted by the parent company.
Provide leadership, training, and performance management to the accounting team.
Drive process improvements and digital transformation initiatives, including optimization of accounting systems.
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting and finance, including at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Proficiency in Japanese and English to communicate with Japanese and English speaking counterparts
Proven experience in preparing consolidated reporting packages and supporting group reporting requirements.
Practical experience in internal control frameworks (e.g., J-SOX) and managing external audits (financial and internal controls).
Foundational knowledge of transfer pricing and experience overseeing corporate income tax and GST compliance.
Strong IT proficiency, including ERP systems and advanced Excel skills, with the ability to drive process improvements and digital transformation initiatives.
Strong leadership skills with experience in team management, coaching, and performance evaluation.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
