Responsibilities :
The key objective of the Civil Engineer is to assist with the coordination of all bridge construction activities. Working as a liaison and translator between the Contractor, Consultant, and Client personnel to ensure clear, concise and timely transfer of pertinent and accurate information between all parties.
 

• Assist with translation of technical civil construction terms and intents between the Consultant and the Contractor and vice versa.
• Provide checks on translated documents for accuracy to ensure complete comprehension for all parties (Contractor, Consultant, and Client).
• Provide the Client with insight into and assist with managing the Consultant/Contractor working relationship.
• Provide real-time updates to the Client on the project including any issues with quality, costs, or schedule.
• Advise Client management on variations between standards (e.g., Australian vs. Chinese).
• Ensure the Contractor fully understands directions from both the Consultant and the Client.
• Assist and guide the Contractor in the formulation of method statements and schedules to an acceptable standard.
• Assist and guide the Contractor with forward planning and communication of plans in a timely manner.
• Assist the Consultant with ensuring proper implementation of construction techniques and ensuring the agreed QCMP is adhered to.
• Assist with ensuring Contractor personnel comply with Client safety regulations and standards.

 
Requirements :

• 7 years of experience in bridge construction projects as Civil Engineer or any other elated position
• Skills and experience in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
• Proficiency in Mandarin (both written and spoken) to understand engineering documents and specifications written in Mandarin.
