The Banquet Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef in leading all banquet culinary operations for a luxury hotel in Houston, bringing hands-on kitchen leadership and culinary expertise to a dynamic, high-volume event and banquet program. This role is responsible for maintaining exceptional food quality, consistency, and production efficiency while supporting and developing a talented culinary team across all hotel banquet and event functions.
 
Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Banquet Sous Chef or senior culinary leader within a luxury hotel, upscale event venue, or similar high-volume banquet-driven hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of large-scale food production, banquet menu execution, food safety standards, and kitchen organization with the ability to maintain consistency and quality across all hotel banquet and event functions
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and develop culinary teams while supporting senior culinary leadership in driving operational excellence and financial performance across all banquet operations

Responsibilities

• Support the Executive Chef in overseeing all banquet culinary operations for the luxury hotel, ensuring exceptional food quality, consistency, and timely execution across all events and banquet functions
• Assist with banquet menu development, prep planning, inventory management, and cost control to maintain efficient and high-quality kitchen operations across all hotel event and banquet venues
• Lead, mentor, and develop banquet kitchen staff while fostering a culture of culinary excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced luxury hotel banquet environment
