Position: Shutdown Inspector - Welding Inspector / Coating Inspector / API Plant Inspector

Duration: 30 Days (Shutdown Assignment)
 
Job Description:
We are seeking experienced Shutdown Inspectors specializing in Welding, Coating, and API inspections for a short-term shutdown project in Oman. The selected candidates will be responsible for carrying out inspection activities in accordance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements during the shutdown period.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform inspection of welding, coating, and mechanical activities during shutdown operations.
• Review and verify compliance with approved procedures, quality plans, and inspection test plans (ITPs).
• Conduct visual inspections and witness NDT activities as required.
• Monitor surface preparation, coating application, and related quality control activities.
• Ensure inspection activities comply with applicable API, ASME, ASTM, and client standards.
• Prepare inspection reports, punch lists, and daily progress updates.
• Coordinate with contractors, supervisors, and client representatives to resolve quality-related issues.
• Verify completion of corrective actions and maintain inspection records.
• Ensure adherence to HSE requirements throughout the shutdown execution.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant inspection certifications in Welding, Coating, and/or API (API 510, API 570, API 653, CSWIP, BGAS/NACE, AWS-CWI, or equivalent).
• Proven experience in refinery, petrochemical, oil & gas, or shutdown/turnaround projects.
• Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, and inspection procedures.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Valid certifications and documents required for deployment.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous shutdown/turnaround project experience in GCC countries.
• Experience working with major oil & gas operators and EPC contractors.
• Familiarity with refinery and petrochemical plant inspection activities.
