Position: Mechanical QA/QC Inspector
Duration: 3 Months
Location: Oman
 
Key Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections of mechanical construction and installation activities.
• Verify material identification, traceability, certifications, and compliance with project requirements.
• Monitor and inspect piping fabrication and installation works.
• Review and verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and welding quality.
• Evaluate and review Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) reports and inspection records.
• Inspect installation of static and rotating equipment including pumps, vessels, compressors, heat exchangers, and associated mechanical systems.
• Witness pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, cleaning, and commissioning activities.
• Verify proper alignment, leveling, grouting, and mechanical completion of equipment.
• Inspect coating, painting, insulation, and cladding works to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Ensure proper flange management practices, including gasket selection and bolting requirements.
• Prepare inspection reports, punch lists, and quality documentation.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, and client representatives during inspections and audits.
• Identify non-conformities and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, project specifications, and quality management requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• CSWIP 3.1 & B GAS 2 is required
• Knowledge of international standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, and relevant client specifications.

Experience

• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Mechanical QA/QC inspection within industrial, oil & gas, petrochemical, power, steel, mining, or EPC projects.
• Experience in piping systems, welding inspection, equipment installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and quality documentation requirements.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of mechanical construction and QA/QC processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Knowledge of welding, NDT methods, and inspection techniques.
• Excellent reporting, communication, and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and quality documentation systems.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
