Immediately Hirring - QCI Mechanical Inspector / QCI Coating Inspector

Job Purpose
 
To carry out inspection and quality control activities related to mechanical works and coating/painting works to ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, standards, and approved procedures.
 
Key Responsibilities Mechanical Inspection

• Inspect mechanical fabrication, installation, and construction activities.
• Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and ITPs.
• Conduct dimensional checks, alignment, fit-up, and visual inspections.
• Witness pressure testing, leak testing, and mechanical completion activities.
• Ensure correct materials are used with valid certificates.
• Raise NCRs for non-conforming work and monitor corrective actions.
• Coordinate with construction teams and client representatives during inspections.

Coating Inspection

• Inspect surface preparation, blasting, and painting activities.
• Verify coating application as per project specifications and procedures.
• Check surface condition, environmental conditions, and coating thickness.
• Witness DFT checks and other coating-related tests.
• Review coating materials, batch certificates, and inspection records.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and application of coating materials.
• Report non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain site records.
• Maintain inspection logs, punch lists, and QA/QC documentation.
• Review calibration certificates for inspection instruments.
• Assist in preparation of final quality dossiers and turnover documentation.

HSE Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with site HSE requirements and procedures.
• Follow permit-to-work systems and safe work practices.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Ensure proper use of PPE during inspection activities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in QA/QC inspection roles.
• Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, industrial, or construction projects preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

• Knowledge of mechanical fabrication and installation practices.
• Understanding of coating systems and surface preparation methods.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, SSPC, NACE).

Certifications (Preferred)

• QA/QC Inspection Certification
• NACE / BGAS / CSWIP / SSPC Coating Certification (for coating role)
• ASNT Level II (advantage)
• HSE / PTW / H2S training
• First Aid Certification
