Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Science, or a related discipline
3–7 years of hands-on experience in Building Envelope Commissioning (BECx) or façade consulting
Proven experience with new construction and retrofit commissioning projects
Certifications such as LEED,MOSTADAM,BECxP, NEBB, BCxP, or CxA is desirable
Duties:
Prepare Envelope Commissioning Method Statements and Functional Performance Test Scripts.
Execute Envelope Commissioning (Air and water tightness tests) Tests on each type or -major Envelope Assembly, and upon completion of the envelope, the Whole Building Air Tightness Tests.
Issue Envelope Testing reports and Whole Building Air Tightness Test Report
Perform Seasonal Envelope Testing.
Experience:
Strong knowledge of building envelope systems, including:
Curtain walls and window wall systems
Roofing systems (low-slope and steep-slope)
Waterproofing, air barriers, vapor barriers, and insulation
Practical experience with field testing and inspections, such as:
Air and water infiltration testing (ASTM E1105, E783, E2357)
Infrared thermography
Hose testing and chamber testing
Ability to review construction documents, shop drawings, and submittals for envelope performance and constructability
Strong coordination skills with owners, designers, contractors, and testing agencies
Experience preparing commissioning plans, site observation reports, deficiency logs, and final commissioning reports
Familiarity with ASHRAE, ASTM, ATTMA,AAMA, NFRC, and local building codes related to envelope performance
