Job Title: Mechanical Lead Engineer
 
Duration: 6 months
 
Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Lead Engineer to manage and oversee mechanical engineering and procurement activities across large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. The ideal candidate will have over 20 years of specialized experience in mechanical systems design, engineering coordination, vendor management, and procurement, particularly in industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, and infrastructure development.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical engineering design and execution for EPC projects, covering both static and rotating equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment with overall objectives and timelines.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, overseeing procurement activities to ensure quality and timely delivery of mechanical equipment and materials.
• Review and approve mechanical engineering designs, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Optimize piping layouts, materials, and equipment placement for efficient design and operation.
• Manage the application of engineering tools, such as AutoCAD and other relevant software, to achieve project deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance and support during all project phases, from concept development to commissioning.
• Drive the resolution of technical issues and manage changes during the project lifecycle.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams to foster development and ensure high-quality project outputs.
• Ensure project risks are identified and mitigated effectively.
• Travel to project or vendor sites as needed to oversee project execution and procurement activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• At least 20 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on EPC project environments.
• Proven expertise in both engineering design and procurement management for large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment (rotating and static), piping systems, materials, and layouts.
• Proficiency in industry-standard tools and software, such as AutoCAD, engineering databases, and other relevant platforms.
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Experience in industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, or infrastructure EPC sectors.
• Familiarity with international engineering codes and standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
• Willingness to travel to project or vendor sites as required.
