Welding Inspector:
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welded joints in accordance with international codes such as ASME, AWS, API, or ISO standards.
Review and verify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT).
Monitor welding activities, pre-heat, interpass temperature, and post-weld heat treatment as required.
Identify and report any non-conformance or defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Maintain accurate records of inspections and tests.
Coordinate with clients, third-party inspectors, and internal QA/QC teams.
Ensure proper use of welding consumables and tools.
Support audits and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI, CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2, or equivalent) — mandatory.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in welding inspection in fabrication industry
Strong knowledge of NDT methods and welding codes.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Coating Inspector
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct visual inspections and quality control tests on coatings applied to a variety of substrates, including metal, concrete, and composites, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards (e.g., SSPC, ISO, ASTM, NACE).
Perform surface preparation inspections, including cleaning, sanding, and priming, to ensure surfaces are ready for coating.
Monitor and verify environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity, dew point) during coating application to ensure compliance with manufacturer’s specifications.
Verify thickness of coating and ensure proper adhesion, cure, and hardness using instruments like dry film thickness gauges (DFT), pull-off adhesion testers, and other coating inspection tools.
Conduct holiday testing to detect pinholes or defects in the coating system.
Identify and report any coating defects or non-conformance issues, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Maintain detailed inspection records, including daily reports, photographs, and test results, ensuring proper documentation for all coating processes.
Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and engineers to address any issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
Review and verify coating specifications, product data sheets, and inspection plans.
Perform inspections of equipment and materials to ensure they are in accordance with project requirements.
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Certification in Coating Inspection (e.g., NACE CIP Level 2, B GAS Level 2) — mandatory.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in coating inspection in fabrication industry
