Position: Subject Matter Expert – Electrical

Role Purpose:
This role is to provide deep technical expertise, mentorship, and strategic input on electrical systems, processes, and technologies during construction and commissioning stages. The SME will serve as a key technical advisor in the design analysis, implementation of mechanical scope and ensuring best practices and compliance with industry standards.
The candidate will be responsible for identifying and highlighting the issues during construction phase, overseeing the mechanical commissioning process for various projects, ensuring that electrical systems and equipment are installed, tested, and operate according to specifications and standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- At least 15 years of experience in electrical discipline
- Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES - Act as the lead in electrical matters across projects during construction and commissioning phases.
- Surveillance of construction activities and highlighting issues related to electrical discipline.
- Provide expert guidance on electrical system design, performance analysis, manufacturing processes, materials, and testing.
- Support cross-functional teams with insights on electrical requirements, constraints, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex electrical failures or issues.
- Stay updated with advancements in electrical engineering and integrate relevant innovations into projects and practices.
- Train, mentor, and support ETSD Q&E electrical inspectors.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with technical specifications.
- Assist in the development and standardization of best practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience: - Strong knowledge of electrical systems and relevant industry standards
- Strong understanding of electrical construction and commissioning requirements. Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, P&ID and other technical documentation
- Familiarity with construction and commissioning processes. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Experience with regulatory compliance and safety standards. Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.
