Position: Senior Plant Inspector

Position Overview: 
 
Will be responsible for evaluating and assessing the condition of plant equipment, preparing work scopes for repairs and renewals, conducting inspections, and inputting inspection data into management software. This role requires extensive knowledge of inspection procedures, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and assess the condition of plant equipment and prepare work scopes for repairs/renewals, including details of materials, welding/joining procedures, NDTs, strength and leak testing, painting, insulation, etc.
• Review inspection documents, including ITP reviews and scope of work reviews for equipment procurements from an inspection point of view.
• Assist in failure investigations, root cause analysis, and risk-based inspection.
• Conduct inspections of static equipment, including pressure vessels, piping, exchangers, heaters, boilers, etc., and follow up on activities in accordance with applicable company regulations, standards, procedures, and international codes and standards.
• Perform inspection, follow-up of repair activities, report preparation, and other Level-2 inspection services as needed.
• Interpret equipment engineering drawings, piping isometric drawings, and input inspection data into Inspection Management Software.
• Compile inspection data into Microsoft Excel sheets for loading into Inspection Management Software (Meridium and Bentley system).
• Input data into Inspection/Thickness Monitoring/RBI Meridium software and Bentley system, including on-stream and off-stream inspections, vendor shop inspections, and inspections for corrosion/damage mechanisms.
• Work on odd hours/nights/holidays/shifts as required by job status.
• Conduct site/clarification visits to get familiarization with actual work conditions and job content.
• Attend site visits with all safety gear (helmet, safety glasses, safety shoes, and long sleeve shirt or jacket).
• Ensure all instruments/tools have valid calibration and report any deviations to the PdM Engineer.
• Perform inspections as per company-established procedures and meet company objectives in terms of work quality.
• Strictly adhere to permit-to-work procedures while performing activities in the plant and workshop.

• Graduate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Mandatory Certifications: API 570/653/510 (Minimum 3 API certifications: 570/510/653), CSWIP 3.2.2 / AWS Senior Welding Inspector, NACE Coating Inspector-Level 2 / BGAS-Grade 2, ASNT Level 2 (UT/MT/PT).
• Preferred Certifications: API 580/571/936, PCN-Level-2 (PAUT/TOFD), Radiographic Film Interpretation.

• Knowledge of HSE in plant environments.
• Familiarity with ASME, API, BS, NACE, ANSI, and other standards related to process plant equipment (exchangers, furnaces, columns, piping, relief valves, vessels, tanks, pipelines, etc.).
• Certified in NDT inspections (UT, RT, PT, MT & Visual Inspections).
• Formal training in nondestructive testing (Eddy current / IRIS testing, etc.).
• Familiarity with materials used in refinery services, corrosion, and welding requirements.
• Proficiency in data input into Inspection/Thickness Monitoring/Risk-based inspection software.
• Skilled in computer usage for report preparation.
• Physically fit to perform inspections in columns, towers, confined spaces, and climb to reach column tops for inspection and repair monitoring.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in service refinery inspection.
• Experience in inspection, repairs/rehabilitation of oil refining-related equipment and associated piping and equipment (construction/turnaround experience not considered).
• Experience in plant T&I’s in Inspection/Reliability departments in refineries.
• Thorough knowledge and inspection experience related to pressure vessels, drums, exchangers, heaters, boilers, reactors, piping, and other related equipment.
• Good knowledge of RBI/Damage Mechanism in refinery & petrochemical communication.
• Experience in at least 7 major TAs as an inspection person in the last 7 years.
