The basic function of the Coating Inspector is to perform coating inspection to verify the quality work during the course of plant operation.
  
Scope:
The incumbent will monitor and/or perform quality and inspection activities in operation. The incumbent will ensure coating systems and their inspection activities are in-compliance using good knowledge of international and SAUDI ARAMCO engineering requirements, standards, procedures, specifications for coatings. The incumbent will provide training to others as and when required. Duties may require physical exertion, working outdoors, confined spaces, high elevations, remote work locations, and on or offshore.
  
Principal duties:

• Inspect coating systems as applicable to ensure compliance with international and SAUDI ARAMCO requirements.
• Monitor records for coating systems for compliance with international and SAUDI ARAMCO requirements
• Witness on-site and off-site coating system material storage, preservation, receiving and installations tests for compliance with international and SAUDI ARAMCO requirements.
• Write inspection notes, logs and reports, as and when required. Initiate Defect Notifications and Equipment Deficiency Report (EDRs), as and when required.

  
Minimum Requirements:

• B.S degree in Engineering in a respective inspection discipline with at least four (4) years of experience in relevant inspection discipline. OR two (2) years industrial/technical College Diploma plus a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant inspection experience.
• Shall have a demonstrated background and thorough knowledge of codes such as ISO Standards e.g. ISO 8501 Visual Assessment of Surface Cleanliness, ISO 8504 Surface Preparation Methods and SSPC- The Society for Protective Coatings e.g. SSPC-SP1 Solvent Cleaning, SSPC-SP5 White Metal Blast Cleaning, and NACE/AMPP relevant references
