Job Title: Party Chief Surveyor
Location: Offshore Egypt
Reporting To: TÜV Rheinland Project Manager
Mandatory Requirements: Seaman Passport, BOSIET, Offshore Medical OGUK
Job Summary:
The Chief Party Surveyor will serve as TÜV Rheinland's primary on-board representative, responsible for overseeing and monitoring the contractor's execution of the subsea lines and structures assessment survey campaign. This role ensures compliance with the project execution plan, maintains data quality control of geophysical data (MBES, SBP, SSS), verifies system calibration, and ensures safety standards are met. The Chief Party Surveyor will act as the key liaison between TÜV Rheinland , End client representatives and the contractor, providing regular updates and progress reports.
Responsibilities:
- Survey Oversight:
- Monitor and verify all geophysical survey operations, including MBES, SBP, and SSS data acquisition.
- Monitor and verify all ROV inspections, and CP measurements
- Ensure adherence to the project execution plan, specifications, and timelines related to geophysical surveys.
- Coordinate survey activities and ensure efficient workflow.
- Equipment and Calibration:
- Witness and verify the proper calibration and functionality of all survey equipment, including MBES, SBP, SSS, ROV systems, and CP measurement devices.
- Monitor equipment performance and report any malfunctions.
- ROV Operations
- Supervise ROV operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution of visual inspections and CP measurements.
- Verify the accuracy of ROV positioning and data acquisition.
- Verify the ROV GVI operations.
- Cathodic Protection (CP) Monitoring
- Monitor CP data acquisition and ensure accurate measurements.
- Verify the proper functioning of CP measurement equipment.
- Provide initial analysis and interpretation of CP data.
- Data Quality and Control:
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of all geophysical data collected during the survey.
- Ensure proper data logging, processing, and storage procedures are followed.
- Conduct quality checks on data and reports to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in surveying, engineering, geoscience related discipline
- Extensive experience in offshore geophysical surveys, particularly with MBES, SBP, and SSS.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Proficient in data acquisition, processing, and analysis software.
- Solid understanding of cathodic protection principles and measurement techniques.
