Position: Senior Quality Inspector- Mechanical
Reports to: Project Quality Manager
Department: Quality & Excellence
Sector: Engineering and Technical Services
We prefer candidates from Infrastructure projects OR Large-scale construction projects OR large-scale public and private sector infrastructure projects.
Qualifications:
A minimum 8 years of experience in a Quality Control Inspector position with 3-year Diploma.
Experience of working on construction phase of Infrastructure projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience of working on construction phase of Infrastructure projects.
- Formal inspector trainings and technical qualification.
- A working knowledge of industry codes and standards relating to Mechanical and Piping disciplines.
- Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice and regulations/legislation relating to electrical and instrumentation work.
- Knowledge of safety legislation and regulations.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Package. Familiar with other computer packages (e.g., MS Project, Outlook, Win PCS, etc.).
Mechanical/ Piping: - Perform routine surveillance, inspection, monitoring of Vendor/Contractor’s site activities (Fabrication, Welding, NDT, Coating and Painting) in accordance with the specifications, ITP, and Quality Plan.
- Ensure all the personnel employed and operating in welding and NDE activities is duly skilled and qualified in accordance with the applicable specifications, codes, and regulations.
- Interpret and evaluate NDT Results, witnessing Hydro test, Pneumatic test, and Post-test Re-instatement.
- Familiar with International Codes & Standards like ASME, ASTM, AWS, ARAMCO or equivalent.
- Supervision of Piping Fabrication, Welding, Mechanical and Painting jobs (Construction & Maintenance) in line with Project requirements.
- Repair follow-up, conforming line check as per P&ID, NDT clearance, Punch List preparation, follow up of final completion.
- Shall be able to measure product dimensions, examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.
General: - Creating and maintaining the Company's Quality Standards; develop, implement, and maintain the Company's Quality documentation, such as Quality procedures, reports etc.
- Establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality awareness throughout the various departments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems relating to Quality control aspects.
- Liaise with managers and Inspectors to ensure the smooth conductance of inspection activities and for reporting and reducing Quality issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams to generate Inspection Test Plans that ensures good Quality products are produced.
- Inspect to ensure that products and processes comply with requirements, using established engineering techniques.
- Analyze the root causes and implement corrective actions for processes or parts that have concerns.
- Continuously improving Quality Control processes and procedures.
- Maintain, monitor, and ensure highest Quality in services or products.
- Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the products and the environment, through training and work instructions.
- Review Contractor’s method statements, QC procedures, ITP, and Quality Plan.
- Review drawings and specifications to prepare for the inspections. Understand the design of the construction that will be inspected.
- Create reports, document the results of the inspection, and maintain the electronic database as required.
