About our role
The Ministry for Pacific Peoples is the Crown’s principal advisor on policies and interventions aimed at improving outcomes for Pacific peoples in New Zealand.
Working in a supportive team, where learning and growth is important to us, our Senior Advisors within Ministerial Services, provide advice on ministerial servicing and processes ensuring that quality, timeliness, and procedural standards are met.
What you’ll do
As our new Senior Advisor you will be involved in the management of Select Committee processes for the Ministry and our Pacific Minister. This will involve collating and logging all ministerial service requests and ensuring the quality of responses is to a high standard.
You will also assist Ministry staff to develop strong awareness and skill in ministerial services processes and support the Director on reporting requirements and the development and growth of Pacific capability across New Zealand.
We are looking for someone who has experience in the public sector and specifically, ministerial servicing. You will need to be someone who can hit the ground running and keep up with the fast-paced nature of the role and meet deadlines. Strong written and oral communication skills will be needed as you will be managing relationships with a range of stakeholders. Having a passion for Pacific communities would be a bonus too.
