About the role
The Ministry for Pacific Peoples (MPP) is the Crown’s principal advisor on policies and interventions aimed at improving outcomes for Pacific peoples in New Zealand.
Recently the Ministry has experienced significant growth, and last year established a Service Delivery business unit, responsible for the delivery of key Ministry operational initiatives such as Tupu Aotearoa, Toloa Programme and Community Funding.
Within the Service Delivery unit our Principal Advisor, provides professional leadership and support to the Service Delivery team, specifically on the design and delivery of community commissioning and contracting related initiatives.
What you’ll do
As part of your role you will be providing advice on the direction and process for commissioning Pacific community groups, including guidance on methodologies, techniques, and procedures to be used across the Ministry. You will also be assisting in the development of reports, papers and submissions to Cabinet Office, Select Committees.
We are looking for skills, and experience in the following areas
Working with us
- Relevant working experience in same/similar field with ideally tertiary qualification (eg public policy)
- Experience in researching, developing, managing and delivering policy or operational outcomes at a senior level
- Ability to lead and deliver projects and programs of work
- Able to work across organisations to develop and implement effective policy and have an understanding of Government policy priorities and how these apply to the Ministry
