About the role:
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Payroll & HR Advisor to join our team, with payroll as the primary focus of the role.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of payroll, working closely with employees, Finance, HR and our outsourced payroll provider to ensure payroll is accurate, compliant and delivered on time, every time.
Alongside payroll, you will provide targeted administrative support across HR, recruitment, onboarding, training, HSE and workforce reporting.
You will play a key role in ensuring employees receive accurate and timely pay, while supporting the CFO and broader business with payroll compliance, workforce information and related reporting.
This role will see you:
- Coordinate the end-to-end payroll process with our outsourced payroll provider.
- Act as the key point of contact for employee payroll and pay-related queries.
- Manage payroll inputs, superannuation, leave entitlements and payroll compliance.
- Support compliance with Fair Work, payroll tax and other relevant requirements.
- Maintain accurate employee and payroll records.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, offboarding and training administration.
- Coordinate HR, HSE and workforce reporting, including FTE data.
- Provide payroll and workforce information to support the CFO, BPR and estimating activities.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, external advisors and regulatory bodies as required.
What you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications preferred, ideally in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Experience working within the Defence Industry would be advantageous.
- Extensive experience in payroll and related payroll functions.
- Experience working with accounting or payroll software.
- Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong administration and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Mandatory Requirements: - Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
