Our Mawson Lakes Facility (MLF) in Adelaide is the center of excellence for integration, facilities management, and sustainment of advanced defence systems. We are seeking an experienced International Trade Compliance Coordinator to lead trade compliance activities for the Mawson Lakes Facility. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring KONGSBERG Australia is meeting its export control obligations under Australian and international export control frameworks.
You'll play a vital role in ensuring our export and import activities meet global best practice and regulatory requirements while supporting critical defence projects.
About the role:As the Trade Compliance Coordinator you will:
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, government and industry partners.
- Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, declarations, and artefacts relevant to ensuring appropriate handling and control of export controlled material.
- Provide export control advice, ensuring guidance is practical, risk-informed and aligned with applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
- Develop and deliver tailored education, training and awareness programs to internal and external audiences, including senior leaders, project management, procurement, engineering, legal and compliance.
- Support the business in preparing for audits, reviews, licence submissions, and compliance reporting, including liaison with regulators and industry partners where required.
- Identify licensing requirements and assist with applications for, and the drafting of, export and import authorisations (e.g. Australian supply permits, section 10A and 10C permits, Technical Assistance Agreements).
- Interpret and apply licence conditions, exemptions, retransfer limitations, access requirements (e.g. regular employee tests), end-use and end-user obligations and technology control requirements.
What you'll Bring:
- Diploma Level or above qualification in law, international relations, transport, logistics, supply chain, customs brokerage, business or other related field.
- Formal training and certification in export controls, trade controls and/or trade compliance (desirable).
- Minimum 3 years export control, trade control and/or trade compliance coordination experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of and experience in implementing Australian and US export controls (military and dual use).
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to clearly and concisely articulate findings and summarise recommendations.
Mandatory Requirements: - Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance.
