About the role:
Kongsberg Missile Factory (KMF) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cyber Security Officer to protect organisational systems, data and infrastructure while supporting the delivery of critical sovereign defence capabilities.
Working closely with Australian and global KONGSBERG Security and IT teams, the Cyber Security Officer will play a key role in ensuring compliance with Australian Defence security requirements, corporate cyber security standards, and regulatory obligations. As the primary cyber security coordinator for the KMF facility, this position will support cyber security governance, risk management, incident response, system accreditation activities and security awareness initiatives.
As a Cyber Security Officer, you will:
- Act as the primary onsite Cyber Security Coordinator for cyber incidents, system changes, and compliance activities at the KMF facility.
- Provide cyber security guidance to employees and leadership, ensuring compliance with KONGSBERG policies, Defence requirements, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with Australian and global KONGSBERG Security and IT teams to implement cyber security strategies, policies, and frameworks.
- Support the development and maintenance of cyber security policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
- Maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditations in accordance with DSPF requirements and applicable Defence standards.
- Monitor and assess cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks across systems and operations.
- Coordinate cyber security incident response activities, including investigation, containment, remediation, and reporting.
- Support security audits, assessments, assurance activities, and compliance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with DSPF, PSPF, DISP, ITAR, and other applicable Defence and industry requirements.
- Promote cyber security awareness and support business continuity and resilience activities.
What you will bring: Essential:
- CompTIA Security+, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), or equivalent industry-recognised cyber security certification.
- Demonstrated experience in cyber security, information security, risk management or related security roles.
- Strong understanding of cyber security governance frameworks, standards and compliance requirements.
- Experience working within the Defence industry, Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) or other regulated environments.
- Experience managing the lifecycle, accreditation, and operation of sensitive systems in accordance with Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements.
Desirable:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Information Security or a related discipline.
- Experience working with geographically dispersed or global security teams.
- Experience conducting cyber security incident response, investigations, and remediation activities.
- Experience supporting security audits, assessments, and accreditation processes.
Mandatory Requirements: - Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Hold a current Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance and be willing and eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 (NV2) Security Clearance.
