Provides surgical scrub assistance during operative cases. This may include passing instruments, holding retractors or assisting the physician. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of all surgical case types and demonstrate the ability to follow AORN guidelines of sterile procedures. Instrument names and use knowledge is necessary. Other duties include performing and overseeing the cleaning and sterilization process of surgical instruments and follow all manufactures recommendations for all forms of instrument sterilization.
Can be certified(CST) or non-certified Surgical Tech, or can be a first assist.
Requires minimum of two years previous surgical tech or central sterile tech experience.
Must have BLS.
Hospital is 100 beds and earned the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval. It is the only hospital in the county and provides care to approximately over 35,000 people.
There is three new physicians coming on board and are going to add another surgical team.
Primary service lines are general surgery, ENT, OB, GYN, Orthopedic.
They do not have robotics.
Position is day shift and the person will rotate on-call(1 day a week and 1 out of 3 weekends).
The hospital will offer an hourly range based on experience and education but low end is $16hr and up.
