Each candidate would be 1.0 FTE. Four 10 hr shift/ week. 1 scheduled Late stay per week. On call obligation. On call once in 5 weeks. Weekday and Weekend rotation call.
General job duties:
Endoscopy RN job duties include admitting patients for procedures, providing IV conscious sedation, recovering patients after sedation or anesthesia and assisting physician in procedures as techs. RNs are required to have scopes washing and disinfecting knowledge. Basic knowledge in Upper Endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP,Endoscopic Ultrasound and pulmonary procedures such as Bronchoscopy.
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept:
Endoscopy utilizes computerized EPIC One chart documentation system. Medication are dispensed through Acudose sytem. Use Philips sytem for vitals monitoring and Provation for procedure documentation.
Endoscopy utilizes Olympus Endoscopes for all the procedures.
- Endo RNs are required to admit, sedate and recover patients after the exam. Able to assist physician in GI and pulmonary exams. Able to wash and disinfect variety of scopes (preferred). At least minimum of 1 year experience in Endoscopy. Able to multi-task, learn quickly and poses good communication skills. Would prefer a candidate familiar with EPIC documentation system.
- BLS and ACLS are must. ND nursing license is required upon start and MN nursing license is a bonus to assist with post op phone calls for patients in MN.
Floating to other units/departments: Endoscopy has two sites within Fargo. The distance between the sites is 20 minutes of drive. The candiates are expected commute between the site during the day if there is a need.
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept: Broadway Endoscopy Unit: It has 7 procedure rooms and 14 prep/recovery rooms. The unit does about 48 to 60 procdures a day. Normally we have 3 to 4 providers working at the site. We do mostly EGD, colonoscopy and some pulmonary procedures at this site
Dress Code: Surgical Scrubs provided by facility.
RNs will be trained in first admission, sedation , recovery and tech role. The candidate will provided a day of orientation in each role for the training and paired with preceptor for any questions.
