Potsdam is located in St. Lawrence County, New York and was founded in 1806 and was the site of both the St. Laswrence Academy (Now SUNY Potsdam) and Clarkson University.
The Infection Preventionist is responsible for the development and coordination of an effective hospital-wide program for surveillance, prevention, and control of infection. This individual assures on-going review and analysis of hospital-acquired infections, data, risk factors, and special studies; and monitors and controls infections hospital-wide.
Required: Current NYS RN License, Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing or Healthcare; minimum of 3 to 5 years of previous health care experience Preferred: Experience working in a role associated with Infection Prevention; Master's degree in Nursing, CIC
Required: Associate’s in Applied Science or diploma program in Nursing.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in nursing
Required: Current RN license in New York State
Preferred: Board Certified in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC)
Required: 3-5 years’ experience working in acute care
Preferred: Work experience related to Infection Prevention activities
