40 Hour Guarantee, 2 Week Call Off for this assignment. No or limited RTO, Holiday coverage strongly preferred.
POSITION SUMMARY
Within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, applies the nursing process to the care of patients. Teaches patients and significant others. Documents patient care in the medical record. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to effectively coordinate overall care of the patient.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accesses and maintains asepsis and patency of central venous catheters • Obtains and maintains proficiency in chemo/biohazardous spill cleanup • Administers chemotherapy after obtaining Chemo/Biotherapy card and demonstrating competency per mentorship protocol • Adheres to all safety precautions involving chemo/biohazards • Inpatient Chemotherapy when necessary
Qualifications
Exceptional skills in all modes of IV therapy
Chemo/Biotherapy card and competency validation or must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 1 year grace period
National certification in oncology nursing and/or intravenous therapy preferred
Recent (in past 5 years) IV therapy experience preferred
