Looking for a Surgical Coordinator Operating Room (1.0 FTE, NIGHT SHIFT) to work in Surgery.
The OR Surgical Coordinator is a key team member who provides support for the surgical team during the patient's Perioperative experience.
The OR Surgical Coordinator works with the interdisciplinary surgical team to ensure efficient and timely room preparation, provides expert knowledge of OR equipment, instrumentation, surgical practice and support during the surgical procedure. Responsible for leading, delegation and coordinating the efforts of other support surgical personnel assigned to facilitate the surgery schedule. Assists the department supervisor or charge nurse in staff scheduling, input in employee evaluations, quality and productivity monitoring and special projects as needed.
In this position you will:
Coordinates and delegates activities of the health care team to ensure timely room preparation.
Communicates with other departments to coordinate patient care needs (pathology, pharmacy, pre/post op, ICU, SPD etc…)
Maintains competencies as a Surgical Technologist in the department as defined by the Surgical Technologist job description
Participates in process improvement initiatives by communicating with designated team members
Participates in shared governance models.
High School Diploma or GED
Education and training should include the equivalent of at least a certificate of completion of a Surgical Technician vocational program.
Washington State Surgical Tech Registration (license)
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required at time of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)
Five (5) years experience as a surgical technician in a tertiary operating room with demonstrated skills in handling instruments and equipment
Demonstrated experience in surgical practice, communicating, delegating or coordinating in a complex environment and providing educational instruction
Must have experience using computers
