Provides anesthesia care in the operating room in support of surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the general supervision of an anesthesiologist.
Provides preoperative evaluation and postoperative follow-up. Functions as a patient advocate and confidant, advisor and liaison between patients, families, and physicians.
Some Job Duties Include:
Selects drugs for anesthesia and emergency treatment.
Induces and maintains anesthesia.
Monitors the patient and adjusts medications as needed.
Treats variants of the anesthesia.
Communicates patient's status with the surgeon, anesthetist and Charge CRNA.
Assesses patient status, interprets hemodynamic waveforms and equipment status.
Takes corrective measures to keep patient in stable pre, peri and post anesthesia.
Conducts thorough preop evaluation of patient including chart review.
Instills confidence in patient.
Organizes OR room with equipment monitors and drugs needed for the procedure.
Performs diagnostic equipment checks.
Coordinates with ancillary, nursing and physician staff to ensure a safe environment for patient including positioning, equipment troubleshooting and review of surgical procedure.
Responds to codes and maintains the airway.
Provides anesthesia support to assigned areas.
Charts accurately, completely and efficiently into patient EMR.
Bachelors or Masters in Nursing required.
Must be a Licensed Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
1 year experience required.
Facility is a full service, 25 bed acute care hospital with 24hr emergency care, full medical and surgical services and attached 36 bed skilled Extended Care Facility.
There is an attached Clinic as well for the medical providers and a 13 unit assisted living facility and a LTC Facility that is 80 beds including 16 of them a secure Alzheimer's unit.
The position is open as they have a CRNA retiring. They have 3 CRNA's and work a unique schedule(2 weeks on and 1 week off).
During the 2 weeks the on call is divided and hours worked is based on case load. No specific hours person works each day but they go home when the cases are complete.
One great perk to the position is they get 17 weeks off a year since they work 2 weeks on and 1 week off.
The facility offers a salary that starts at $97.00hr and up depending on experience plus full benefits, relocation, sign-on and retention bonuses.
