We are currently searching for a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:
Restore patient’s pulmonary function, alleviate pain, and support life by planning and administering medically prescribed respiratory therapy.
Meet patient’s goals and needs and provide quality care by conducting pulmonary function tests, assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results, and determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and by prescription.
Helps patient accomplish treatment plan and supports life by administering inhalants, operating mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation in life threatening situations, which includes establishment of an airway by inserting an endotracheal tube, performance of chest compressions, and the application of ventilatory support.
Administers respiratory therapy treatments by performing bronchopulmonary drainage, assisting with breathing exercises, and monitoring physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes.
Directs treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.
Evaluates effects of respiratory therapy treatment plan by observing, noting, and evaluating patient’s progress and recommending adjustments and modifications.
Consistently communicates effectively and respectfully and delivers safe, dependable and effective care to a patient population independently.
Demonstrates developed assessment skills and recognizes the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes.
Documents the respiratory therapy process accurately and in the appropriate format (e.g. computer, clinical pathway, and chart) and plans and implements patient care independently.
Respects and maintains confidential information and collects, reports, analyzes and provides data on an ongoing basis and as required by physician and/or interdisciplinary teams in accordance with organization standards.

1+ years' of previous experience
Valid California State Respiratory Care Practitioner's License
