Responsible for the processing of laboratory specimens and reporting of results in all areas of the clinical laboratory. Maintains laboratory records. Follows laboratory policies and procedures; maintains quality control practices in the Laboratory. Performs other duties as assigned
Equipment utilized in the unit:
Beckman Coulter DxC600i for chemistry and immunochemistry, Sysmex XN3000 for hematology, Siemens CA1500 for coagulation, iRICELL for automated urinalsis (in process of acquiring), Clinitek Advantus for urinalysis, Bac-T-Alert 3D for blood cultures, BioMerieux Vitek 2 for bacterial ID and AST, and Ortho MTS gel system for blood banking.
Required skills and minimum years of experience:
Training and certification as a MT • 1-2 years generalist experience in an accredited clinical laboratory
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required:
Certification or equivalent required.
All new MT employees will participate in 2 days of general hospital orientation and will have 5-6 weeks introductory training and orientation (approximately 1 week per each section of the laboratory).
