People Partner - 6 Month FTC, Salary: £43,920 - £54,160 pro rata 6-month fixed-term contract | Hybrid / Flexible Location | Derby focus
Are you an experienced People Partner / HR Business Partner who can combine strong operational HR expertise with the confidence to influence, coach and challenge leaders?
We're recruiting a People Partner to join an established, values-led charity for six months at an important time for its People function.
This is a broad, hands-on role where you'll partner with leaders across the organisation, provide expert advice on complex people matters and help create additional capacity within a busy People team. Alongside managing day-to-day priorities, you'll have the opportunity to help improve processes, systems and ways of working.
You'll have a particular focus on supporting the Derby service, while working alongside two existing People Partners to provide support across the charity's wider services.
There is flexibility around where you are based, provided you are comfortable travelling to services when required. This will include regular travel to Derby and attendance at the Wimbledon office approximately once every couple of weeks to connect with the wider People team.
Is this the role for you?
This is a varied People Partner role where you'll be equally comfortable partnering with senior leaders and rolling up your sleeves to support operational delivery.
You'll be responsible for:
- Partnering with and coaching leaders on people and organisational matters
- Providing expert advice on complex Employee Relations cases
- Leading and supporting TUPE, including service mobilisations and demobilisations
- Supporting organisational change, including restructures and redundancies
- Providing guidance and support to People Advisors and Administrators
- Reviewing and developing HR policies in line with employment legislation
- Supporting leaders to build effective, high-performing teams
- Using people data and HR metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Helping improve People processes, systems and ways of working
- Contributing to wider People & Culture initiatives and priorities
What we're looking for You'll be an experienced People Partner / HR Business Partner or senior generalist HR professional who can quickly get up to speed and make an immediate contribution.
You'll bring:
- CIPD Level 7 membership
- Significant senior generalist HR / People experience
- Strong and up-to-date UK employment law knowledge
- Extensive experience managing and advising on complex Employee Relations
- Strong TUPE knowledge and practical experience
- Experience supporting restructures, redundancies and organisational change
- The confidence to coach, influence and appropriately challenge leaders
- Experience supporting and developing other HR professionals
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work with a good degree of autonomy
Experience within a regulated environment, particularly health and social care, would be advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys making a tangible difference. You'll be joining a People function where your experience can provide much-needed additional capacity, support an established team and help leave processes and ways of working in a stronger position.
If you're an experienced People Partner who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and confidently navigate complex people issues, we'd love to hear from you.
