Sustainability & Compliance Manager, Derby based. £45,000–£65,000

Are you a Sustainability & Compliance Manager who enjoys getting under the skin of legislation, understanding what it means for a business and making sure the right processes are put in place?

This is a newly created opportunity for a hands-on Sustainability & Compliance Manager to take ownership of a growing compliance and sustainability remit within a successful international product-based business. Predominantly supporting print equipment, consumables and associated products, you will strengthen product compliance, supplier standards and sustainability across the business.

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit back and write strategy. As Sustainability & Compliance Manager, you will get involved, work across departments, keep ahead of changing legislation and turn complex requirements into practical actions.

As Sustainability & Compliance Manager, you will:

• Monitor UK and EU legislation and identify what changes mean for the business.
• Build and improve product compliance processes.
• Support CE/UKCA, product safety, REACH and chemical compliance.
• Strengthen packaging compliance, EPR and supplier documentation.
• Improve product traceability and technical files.
• Work with international suppliers to obtain and maintain compliance information.
• Support emerging regulations including DPP, ESPR and PPWR.
• Develop measurable sustainability goals and support carbon reporting.
• Improve ESG information and customer sustainability responses.
• Lead cross-functional compliance and sustainability projects.

We are looking for a Sustainability & Compliance Manager with:

• Around 5–7 years’ experience in compliance, sustainability or regulatory affairs.
• Experience within manufacturing, consumer products, engineering, equipment or another product-led environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK and EU product compliance.
• Experience interpreting legislation and turning it into workable processes.
• Experience working with international suppliers and supply chains.
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
• A practical, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
