IT Support Engineer – Hands-On Role in a Close-Knit Tech Team
Looking for more variety and responsibility in your IT support role? Want to move beyond ticket queues and be part of something more hands-on and meaningful?
This is an opportunity for an IT Support Engineer to join a small, well-established IT partner that works with businesses who need genuine outsourced IT management, but without the complexity of corporate red tape. With clients ranging from five to 200 users, and the majority located within a few miles of Bristol, you’ll enjoy a diverse workload where no two days are ever quite the same.
You’ll join a friendly, supportive team where training is delivered on the job, not from a manual. Starting on 1st line support, you’ll soon grow into more complex 2nd line issues – from configuring laptops and resolving connectivity faults, to diagnosing server backup issues and helping roll out new IT infrastructure. The environment is built around learning and autonomy, making it an ideal step up for someone with some prior support experience who now wants breadth and real-world impact.
As an IT Support Engineer, you’ll be working across a wide technology landscape including Microsoft 365 admin, Windows 10/11 devices, Server 2016 environments, networking equipment (including Ubiquiti), VPNs, VLANs and cloud-hosted services. You’ll be configuring hardware, setting up user accounts, resolving email and printer issues, and assisting in client architecture decisions.
While the majority of work is remote, you’ll also go onsite occasionally – using a shared pool vehicle – to help maintain those strong client relationships.
You’ll be part of a tight, four-person team where everyone has each other’s back. Leadership here is technical and present – you’ll learn directly from senior engineers and the founder himself. Most importantly, you’ll be treated as a professional from day one, with flexibility to swap hours around the needs of the business and your life.
Expect 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays), NEST pension, and a starting salary of £28,000 with a review at six months aiming towards £31,000.
This IT Support Engineer role would suit someone with solid 1st line experience, a strong customer service mindset, and a keen desire to grow. If you’ve worked in a larger corporate environment and feel boxed in, this could be your chance to break free and take on broader responsibility in a business where you’re visible, valued, and trusted.
Ready to get stuck in? Apply now to join as an IT Support Engineer where you’ll develop faster, go further, and be part of a team that genuinely enjoys what they do.
Applications close on 8th May. Interviews will be held on 14th & 15th May.
