Position: Commercial Disputes Lawyer Experience: 12-15 years PQE We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Commercial Disputes Lawyer at Counsel level with expertise in energy and commodities litigation and general commercial disputes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and arbitration, with deep experience handling contract-related conflicts across multiple industries. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-value cross-border disputes and to play a key role in RCLC’s expanding disputes practice. Key Responsibilities: - Advise and represent clients in commercial litigation and international arbitration proceedings, particularly in disputes involving energy and commodities. - Handle high-value disputes in the energy and commodities sectors, including issues related to supply chain contracts, joint ventures, and infrastructure projects. - Manage a broad caseload of contractual disputes, including breaches, misrepresentation claims, indemnity disputes, and non-performance issues. - Draft pleadings, legal opinions, and submissions for complex commercial matters before Singapore courts and arbitral tribunals. - Negotiate and settle disputes effectively, working closely with clients to develop dispute resolution strategies that align with their commercial objectives. - Collaborate with external experts, forensic accountants, and industry specialists to support claims and defences in high-stakes litigation. - Support the firm’s expansion strategy by engaging in business development and strengthening client relationships in Singapore and the broader Southeast Asian region Key Qualifications: - LL.B from a top-tier university. - Singapore-qualified lawyer with at least 12-15 years of PQE in commercial litigation and arbitration. - Proven expertise in handling disputes, particularly in the energy and commodities sector. - Strong understanding of contract law, trade finance disputes, indemnity provisions, force majeure claims, and dispute resolution mechanisms. - Highly driven, commercially minded, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. - Exceptional advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills, with a track record of delivering results in complex disputes.
