Counsel/Partner, Construction Disputes, Singapore
We are seeking a Counsel/Partner-level lawyer specialising in Construction Disputes to join a leading local law firm in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have approximately 12-15+ experience (PQE) and be admitted to the Singapore Bar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Robust background in construction law disputes, including, construction litigation/arbitration adjudication, facilities management matters, construction-related insurance matters, contractual liability assessments, and domestic/local construction issues.
- Construction Dispute Resolution: lead and manage complex construction disputes (including, without limitation, insurance-related matters), involving litigation, arbitration, and/or adjudication proceedings; advise clients on strategies for dispute avoidance and resolution.
- Contractual Advisory: provide expert advice on construction contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating terms related to such contracts, as well as facilities management contracts, liability assessments, and risk allocation.
- Regulatory Compliance: ensure clients' compliance with local and regional construction laws and regulations; advise on statutory obligations and industry standards in Singapore and target expansion regions.
- Client Relationship Management: serve as a key legal adviser to developers, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders in the construction industry; develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing strategic advice on project development and dispute management.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognised university.
- Admission to the Singapore Bar (mandatory)
- Minimum of 12-15+ years PQE with a significant portion spent in construction law practice or in-house legal departments within the construction industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in construction-related legal matters, including dispute resolution, contract management, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience with facilities management matters and insured construction disputes.
