Counsel, Project Finance, Singapore
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated lawyer with 10-12+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to join the Energy & Infrastructure group of a leading international law firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy and infrastructure projects, with expertise in both conventional energy sectors and green/renewable energy transactions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-profile matters primarily in project financing (as well as exposure to some project development work).
Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction Advisory, advise clients on the structuring, negotiation, and execution of the financing of energy and infrastructure projects.
- Transactional Documentation - draft, review, and negotiate project-finance related agreements and documentation on the sponsor/developer side, as well as, for investors/creditors.
- Regulatory Compliance - provide guidance on legal and regulatory frameworks affecting energy and infrastructure projects in major jurisdictions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration - work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including clients, advisors, and government authorities, to deliver seamless legal solutions.
Key Requirements:
- 10-12+ years PQE with substantive experience at a top-tier US or international law firm.
- Demonstrated expertise in laws/legal issues concerning energy and infrastructure projects/transactions, particularly in conventional/renewable energy sectors.
- Deep understanding of project finance, and good familiarity with project development, corporate/M&A and related contractual frameworks.
- Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage complex transactions and coordinate cross-border legal matters effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
