Entrust Recruitment is partnering with a globally recognised leader in mining and blasting services to recruit multiple experienced Shotfirers for its North Surface Coal operations in Central Queensland.

These are EBA roles offering a 7 days on, 7 days off DIDO roster, camp accommodation and excellent long-term career development within an established global organisation.

The Opportunity

As a Shotfirer, you will provide operational blasting expertise while assisting with the direction, supervision and guidance of the Blast Crew throughout the loading, tying and firing of large-scale surface coal blasts.

Working closely with operational teams and site stakeholders, you will ensure blasting activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with blast designs, site procedures and legislative requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing direction and guidance to Blast Crew personnel
• Managing the loading, tying and firing of large surface coal blasts
• Completing Shotfiring duties in accordance with approved blast designs
• Supporting magazine management and explosives compliance
• Working closely with operational teams and site stakeholders
• Promoting safe work practices and maintaining high safety standards
• Assisting with the training and mentoring of new and developing team members
• Contributing to continuous improvement and effective blast outcomes

What We're Looking For

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Current Shotfirer qualifications and relevant licences
• Previous Shotfiring experience within surface mining, ideally coal
• Experience working with large production blasts
• Strong knowledge of explosives safety, procedures and compliance
• The ability to lead and provide direction to Blast Crew personnel
• A practical, safety-focused approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to work a 7/7 DIDO roster in Central Queensland
