About the Opportunity

Entrust Recruitment has partnered with a global leader in the mining industry to recruit experienced Dual Skilled Operator / Shotfirers to join a busy surface coal operation in North Queensland.

This is an outstanding opportunity to secure a permanent position where you'll utilise both your operating and shotfiring skills as part of a high-performing blast crew.

Working a family-friendly 7 days on, 7 days off DIDO roster, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, efficient and productive blasting operations.

The Role
Working within an experienced blast crew, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating Mobile Processing Units (MPUs) to safely manufacture and deliver bulk explosives to blast holes
• Loading blast holes in accordance with blast designs and site procedures
• Carrying out shotfiring activities including tying in, initiating blasts and magazine management
• Ensuring all blasting activities are completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with legislative and company requirements
• Working closely with the wider blast crew and customer representatives to deliver safe and productive outcomes

About You
To be considered, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a dual-skilled Operator / Shotfirer role
• Surface coal mining experience
• Current QLD Shotfirer's Licence
• Demonstrated experience operating blast support equipment
• HR driver's licence (preferred)
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
