About the role

Join the team at Engineering Trades Australia as an Underground Electrician FIFO from Brisbane at mine sites across QLD, NSW, VIC & NT. This is a casual position that can lead to full time and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging mining environment. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment in an underground mining site.

What you'll be doing

• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment to identify and resolve issues
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical infrastructure, motors, switchgear, and other mining equipment
• Install, modify, and upgrade electrical systems and components to enhance safety and efficiency
• Ensure all electrical work adheres to relevant safety regulations and industry standards
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and inspections
• Collaborate with the broader engineering team to support the overall operations of the mine

What we're looking for

• Trade qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 3 years' experience as an Electrician, with specific knowledge of underground mining operations
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, switchgear, and rotating equipment found in a mining environment
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical manuals
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
• Adaptable and able to work effectively in a team or independently
• Have a clean police record
