We are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters, Riggers and Boilermakers for major upcoming shutdown works based at Goonyella, QLD.
With works commencing 24 September 2026 and opportunities available through to December, this is a great opportunity for experienced shutdown personnel looking to lock in a solid run of work for the remainder of the year.
You'll be working a 4/4/4 roster – Days / Nights / Off, as part of an experienced shutdown team delivering critical maintenance and project works within a busy site environment.

Previous
shutdown, CHPP, mining, fixed plant or heavy industrial experience will be highly regarded.

The Work Depending on your trade and experience, you may be involved in a variety of shutdown maintenance and project activities.
Mechanical Fitters - Fixed plant maintenance and repairs
- Removal, installation and replacement of mechanical components
- Preventative and breakdown maintenance
- Inspection and fault finding
- Working on pumps, conveyors and associated fixed plant equipment
- Assisting with shutdown maintenance activities
Boilermakers - Welding, fabrication and structural repairs
- Fixed plant maintenance
- Cutting, grinding and gouging
- Repairing and replacing worn components
- Reading and interpreting drawings
- Completing shutdown repairs and modifications
Riggers - Rigging and lifting activities
- Slinging, moving and positioning loads
- Assisting with equipment and component change-outs
- Working closely with crane operators and trades
- Inspecting lifting and rigging equipment
- Completing lifts in accordance with site procedures and lift requirements
What You’ll Need To be considered, you will require relevant qualifications and licences for your position, including:
- Relevant Australian-recognised trade qualification for Mechanical Fitters and Boilermakers
- Relevant High Risk Work Licence for Riggers
- Previous experience in your respective trade
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work both day and night shifts
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced shutdown environment
- Full Australian working rights
- Ability to meet all relevant site mobilisation and pre-employment requirements
Previous experience across
CHPPs, mining, fixed plant maintenance, major shutdowns or heavy industry will be highly regarded.
Shutdown Experience Highly Regarded We’re looking for people who understand the demands of shutdown work – working safely, meeting tight timeframes and collaborating effectively with multiple trades to get critical works completed.
If you’ve previously worked across
Goonyella or other Bowen Basin shutdowns, make sure this experience is clearly listed on your application.
