Engineering Trades Australia is currently seeking experienced Electricians with strong heavy industrial, telecommunications and testing experience for a brownfields construction project at the Alcoa Portland Aluminium Smelter an initial 6-week project, with the client holding a 3-year contract and potential for ongoing work.

Location: Portland, VIC
Project: Alcoa Portland Aluminum Smelter
Start Date: 10 August 2026
Roster: 9-day fortnight | 8-hour days
Duration: 6-week project with potential for ongoing work

About the Role
Working within a live industrial environment, you will be involved in:

• Pulling and installing CAT 6 cabling
• Installing media converters
• Rewiring conveyors
• Installing 6-foot screens
• Electrical testing and fault finding
• Telecoms installation and testing

Requirements

• Current Victorian Electrical Licence
• High Risk EWP (Desirable) 
• Working at heights (Desirable) 
• Confined Space & Gas Test (desirable) 
• Telecommunications/data cabling experience
• Previous brownfields construction experience
• Must be clean shaven for face-fit respiratory protection
