About the Role Engineering Trades Australia are seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician for shift coverage at the Brisbane Children's Hospital. This role will see you working within a large hospital maintenance team, ensuring electrical systems and equipment remain fully operational and compliant across wards, plant rooms, and hospital facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and reactive maintenance on electrical systems, lighting, and power infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and repair faults in hospital services (emergency lighting, backup power, alarms, etc.).
Work closely with facilities and engineering staff to maintain uptime across critical areas.
Complete safety checks, logbooks, and compliance documentation.
Respond to breakdowns and after-hours callouts as part of rotating shift coverage.
Requirements
Current QLD Electrical Licence
Current CPR & LVR certification
Construction White Card
National Police Check (or ability to obtain - required for hospital access)
Vaccination evidence (Hep B, COVID, Flu) in line with hospital entry requirements
Previous experience in hospital, healthcare, or large facility maintenance highly desirable
Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious attitude
