Engineering Trades Australia (ETA) is representing one of Western Australia’s premier gold producers to recruit a talented Drill & Blast Engineer for a temp-to-perm opportunity on an operational open-pit site.

About the Role

As a Drill & Blast Engineer, you’ll work as part of a high-performing technical services team, delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective drill and blast designs. The role offers excellent exposure to large-scale gold mining operations and career growth into senior technical or leadership pathways.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimise, and implement drill and blast designs and schedules.
• Liaise with survey, geology, and production teams to ensure compliance with design parameters.
• Conduct QA/QC of drill and blast activities, ensuring accuracy and safety standards.
• Provide technical guidance on explosives management and blast performance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for productivity, cost, and safety.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in open-pit drill and blast engineering.
• Experience with software such as BlastLogic, SHOTPlus, or similar.
• Strong safety focus and commitment to best-practice design standards.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Current WA driver’s licence and ability to pass site medical and D&A.
