An established underground gold operation in Western Australia is offering a permanent opportunity for a Senior Underground Mining Engineer to join the technical services team. With multiple new mining areas scheduled to come online, this role provides long-term career stability, challenging technical work, and the chance to contribute to the ongoing success of a major underground operation.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Planning Engineer, this position will focus on mine planning and design, ensuring accurate schedules and production outcomes. You will play a key role in delivering short-term and medium-term plans, collaborating with geology, geotechnical, and operational teams to optimise mine performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare short-term and rolling monthly mine plans and schedules
• Deliver detailed designs for development and production activities
• Identify and communicate critical path items to ensure production targets are met
• Work collaboratively across technical services and operations teams
• Monitor and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent)
• Extensive experience in underground hard-rock mining
• Strong planning and mine design background (development and production)
• Proficiency with Deswik software
• First Class Mine Manager’s Ticket (desirable but not essential)
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
