Are you experienced in logistics, dispatch, or expediting within a heavy steel or industrial environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Logistics & Materials Coordinator (Expeditor) to join our client’s Naval Base workshop.

The Role

As the Expeditor, you will play a vital part in keeping projects on track by ensuring materials and equipment are delivered on time and stored correctly. This role requires strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with suppliers, drivers, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Liaise with project teams to manage collection and delivery of project materials
• Produce accurate delivery dockets and dispatch documentation
• Provide clear work instructions to drivers
• Identify and resolve delivery issues or delays to maintain schedules
• Visit suppliers to expedite materials and report progress
• Organise and store materials for easy access in the workshop
• Ensure dispatch documentation and photographs are completed and filed correctly

About You To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience in coordinating freight, drivers, and logistics
• Strong knowledge of transport regulations and load restraint management
• Background in heavy steel, industrial, or fabrication environments
• Valid Forklift Licence (LF) and HR Driver’s Licence
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with internal teams and suppliers
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Rigger/Dogman ticket (desirable)
