Our client is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Projects team based in Perth on a Monday – Friday basis. In this role, the Project Engineer will lead all technical activities on assigned projects.
  
This position's responsibilities include working collaboratively as part of a team during tendering, ECI/FEED studies, and executing D&C projects. The role also involves coordinating all technical activities on assigned projects and participating in planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating engineering work.
  
  
Responsibilities:
  

• Manage and coordinate the design of various disciplines, including content/detail, interfaces between disciplines, and compliance with the tendered contract requirements
• Assists in preparing designs, drawings, plans and specifications for projects, engineered systems, technical equipment or components.
• Participate in Safety in Design processes, including HAZID and HAZOP studies.
• Review drawings to identify problems, recommend solutions, and take preventive steps for correction.
• Responsible for planning, conducting and coordinating project technical and management aspects.
• Work closely with the Management team and project scheduler to streamline the schedule and coordinate engineering activities.
• Liaise with vendors and contractors to achieve ‘on-time’ results, including following up with external suppliers to ensure timely responses to action items.
• Assist in preparing quotations utilising supplier information, cost standards, and technical information from the quality, manufacturing engineering, and design.
• Assists in coordinating pricing, estimating, and scoping strategies for proposed projects and developing and preparing technical specifications.
• Prepares project-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
• Resolves technical issues in collaboration with onsite and offsite project teams, including drafting technical queries.
• Coordinate the collection and dissemination of technical information between/within the company, other contractors and clients.
• Participating in Client/Contractor meetings and resolving Client/engineering and technical issues.
• Attends internal/subcontractor project meetings and provides technical and engineering support to the project team.
• Assist with the compilation and administration of project variations.
• Assists in preparing reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, permits, and project designs.
• Perform other organisational duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements.
• Take responsibility for your safety, uphold the Company WHSE policies and participate in Company WHSE initiatives.

     

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Project engineering ideally Civil
• Strong knowledge of ECI / FEED studies
• Experience in managing projects and working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong Contract Administration skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with clients and stakeholders.
• Proficient in engineering software and tools
• Experience in Mining Projects is a plus
• Knowledge of electrical safety standards and codes is essential
• Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
• Proficient in MS Packages
