Senior Accountant - Investment & Fund Accounting
Baltimore, MD | Hybrid
$85K-$100K base + 10% bonus
 
Legacy Search Advisors is partnering with a highly regarded, established organization in the Baltimore area to hire a Senior Accountant for a unique role providing exposure to investment and fund accounting.
 
This could be an outstanding next step for a high-performing public accountant who wants to move into industry without sacrificing the learning curve, mentorship and professional development that can sometimes be lost when leaving public accounting.
 
You'll work directly for an accomplished accounting leader who began his own career in Big-4 public accounting and genuinely enjoys developing people and is looking for someone he can invest in, teach and gradually give more responsibility to. Rather than stepping into a narrowly defined accounting position, the person hired will have an opportunity to learn sophisticated investment and fund accounting from someone who currently owns much of that work himself.
 
Over time, the goal is for this person to take ownership of increasingly complex responsibilities while their manager transitions from preparer to reviewer.

You do not need to already know all of this.
 
We're particularly interested in candidates coming from public accounting who have demonstrated that they're smart, driven and capable of learning quickly. Exposure to investments, private equity, real estate, partnerships, multi-entity structures or similar clients would be valuable, but we're willing to consider someone whose experience isn't a perfect match.
 
Candidates with direct fund or investment accounting experience are certainly welcome as well.
 
A CPA is preferred, but ultimately we're looking for a high-performing accountant with strong fundamentals, intellectual curiosity and the desire to keep developing.
