Director of Accounting
Baltimore, MD (Hybrid | Relocation Assistance Available)
$200K–$240K base + 30% bonus + Equity
  
A highly successful company is seeking a Director of Accounting to step into a critical leadership role during an exciting period of growth and succession planning. The Role:
As Director of Accounting, you will lead a team of professionals while serving as a key business partner across the organization. This role goes far beyond traditional accounting — you’ll be deeply involved in strategy, analytics, and decision support that impact the company at the highest levels.
  
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical accounting, including lease accounting (ASC 842), loans, and interest income.
• Oversee GL accounting and complex financial reporting.
• Drive forward-looking analysis, projections, KPI prep, and investment modeling.
• Partner with leaders across departments, providing insight and solutions rather than roadblocks.
• Manage and mentor a team (direct and indirect reports, with potential international scope).
• Collaborate with the CAO and other executives on strategic initiatives.

  
What We’re Looking For:

• 10–15+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Public company background (required); Big 4 foundation strongly preferred.
• Strong technical accounting expertise, particularly lease accounting.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills — able to collaborate across teams and levels.
• Real estate industry experience a plus, but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically, offer solutions, and influence decision-making.

  
Compensation & Benefits:

• $200K–$240K base salary
• 30% bonus target
